House of Military Presence

The "House of Military presence" was built in 1896 of the XIX century, at the expense of the merchant Z.V. Khaminov. A stone structure, rare for a small town, is made in the eclectic style, reflecting the complex decorative forms of the facades, as well as indicating the desire of representatives of high society of that time to demonstrate luxury, power.

The building is brick, two–storeyed - saturated with individual architecture. Its two main facades (South and East) look at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Lenin streets, are made in the style of eclecticism, are divided vertically by pilasters with paired semi-columns at the level of the second floor with bases and richly decorated capitals into three parts – the middle ones are wider than the side ones. Above the side half-columns rise figured attics, interconnected by a decorative balustrade.
Aprons under the windows of the first and second floors, decorated with horizontally elongated niches. The windows of the first floor, framed by a shaft, with wedge-shaped lintels of a weak rise, decorated with a keystone. The windows of the second floor with platbands expanding in the upper part, with wedge-shaped lintels of a weak rise, with a keystone. Rectilinear profiled sandricks above the windows of the second floor, supported by decorative brackets. Window aprons laid out in the form of balusters under the extreme windows of the second floor on the southern facade and under the two extreme windows of the second floor on the western and eastern facades. All architectural details on the facades of the building are made of molded hewn red brick of high quality on lime mortar.
The composition of the plan of the second floor of the object under study corresponds to the first. The length of the building is 20.0 m, width 15.0 m, height to the ridge 7.47 m. The internal floors are made of modern flat reinforced concrete floor slabs made in 2007. The interior walls are laid out of red brick on lime mortar, covered with plaster. The thickness of the walls of the first floor is 810 mm, the second floor is 640 mm.
On the left side of the house on Lenin Street, a brick plastered fence is adjacent to the house from the top, covered with galvanized metal with carved metal valances, with wooden gates and two wooden gates. In 1967-1968 , a two - storey stone dormitory building with a length of 70 m was added to the northern facade of the building .
